In the vast sector of
manufacturing plastics products, a chiller can be installed to cool the
moulds of various shapes and materials. In the case of injection and
production of PET bottles, the cooling water passes through orifices made
in the mould and is used to keep the mould temperature within acceptable
values for the production process. Selecting the right model of chiller is
not easy since each mould is “unique”.
Generally, the maximum temperature of the
coolant at the inlet to the mould varies between 9 and 18°F (5 and 10°C).
